The ninth week of construction of NIBULON-5 and NIBULON-6 has marked unfavourable weather conditions: continuous low temperature, rime, snow. Such freaks of nature did not hamper production schedule but made changes in the process of construction, thus, increasing an amount of work inside the assembly-welding workshop and machine-assembly workshop.
At present almost 100 shipbuilders working at different production workshops continue to construct vessels.
NIBULON-5 readiness has already exceeded 21 %. Last week the shipbuilders have performed a considerable amount of work:
– Bulwarks were installed on the units No.20 and No.30.
– The sections of the upper deck and sides were joined to the bottom section of the unit No.40.
– The sections of units (No.10 and No.50) of the forebody and afterbody edge are being formed.
– There has been started manufacture of parts of the machine-assembly part: foundations of main engines, ladders, pipe flanges.
– The pipes to outfit the units No.10 (readiness is 25 %), No.20 (90 %), No.30 (80 %), No.40 (90 %), No. 50 (50 %) are being manufactured.
The second NIBULON-6 tug is being built. At present the shipbuilders continue the subassembly of sections for the units No.30 and No.40 and also fabrication of the unit No.20. At Kyiv plant “Leninska Kuznya” metal is being processed (work readiness comprises 75 %).
Construction of vessels is performed according to the following stages: metal cutting – subassembly and fabrication (NIBULON-6) – hull formation (NIBULON-5) – manufacture of hull systems – test of spaces – assembly of deck equipment – assembly of electrical and radionavigation equipment – mounting of insulation and metal plating – plating of spaces – equipping of superstructure and living spaces – deck painting – mooring trials – sea trials.
