To Change Lives of Thousands of Ukrainians for the Better. Results of 2018

We have been working in Ukraine for 27 years, developing our business honestly, transparently and within the law. The main rule of our company is to be honest with people, business partners, banks, and society. Transparent and legal methods to conduct business, openness and honesty are the key advantages of our business activity.
NIBULON’s work in a social sphere is a phased and purposeful implementation of its own initiatives in relations with employees, environment protection, charity, and cooperation with community. A successful company should work for the benefit of society, since the development of business activities is possible in a healthy society. We learned this axiom at the very beginning of our history. And we strictly adhere to the principles of social responsibility.
Protecting global food security
Ukraine is a country that can provide additional potential for agricultural production to end hunger. Today the whole world looks at Ukraine, which has all the opportunities for growing more agricultural commodities.
That is why the Ukrainian company NIBULON makes a real contribution to ensuring sustainable development and global food security. Since 2008, NIBULON has been participating in the UN World Food Program (WFP). Due to NIBULON, high-quality agricultural commodities were supplied to starving people in Pakistan, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Kenya, Mauritania, Yemen and other countries.
6 December 2017, Cairo, Egypt, an important event aimed at saving global food security took place. FAO and NIBULON signed the Memorandum to focus on improving the efficiency of Egyptian companies involved in grain production, storage and transportation.
 
In 2018, as part of these agreements and with the support of the Egyptian leadership, a series of meetings and mutual visits took place between NIBULON’s representatives and leading experts of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Land Reclamation and other government agencies that are closely connected with these issues.

Today, an organization council, established under the Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Trade of Egypt, and NIBULON’s working group are actively exchanging information on the opportunity of investing in Egypt. It will include the modernization of Egypt’s elevators, the construction of new ones, and the construction of a fleet at the country’s shipyards for grain transportation along the Nile River and its distributaries. Thus, we also plan to revive navigation on the Nile River.
 
In harmony with nature
NIBULON is a successful example of environmentally conscious business in Ukraine. The ecological component in the construction of NIBULON’s river terminals and elevator complexes, in addition to the obvious advantages in terms of logistics and organization of production, has a positive impact on the environment. The company allocates significant financial resources for the environment protection and by its own example promotes environmentally safe and responsible business.
During 2009-2018, NIBULON spent more than UAH 270 million to protect the environment and to support the ecological budgets at all levels of government.
In 2018, the EBRD recognized NIBULON as the bronze award winner in the category “Environmental and Social Innovation” with an investment program for expanding and modernizing grain logistics infrastructure by further development of grain transportation by inland waterways.

Great attention is paid to an environmental component when building elevators under the investment project. To limit the environmental impact of industrial processes, a number of precautionary measures are taken to protect it. The environmental audits are carried out each year. NIBULON’s chemical-technological laboratory monitors the state of the environment within the activities of the company’s production branches. Its accreditation certificate enables it to monitor atmospheric air (31 indices), aquatic environment (40 indices), soils and bottom sediments (17 indices).
When doing business the company is constantly guided by modern European “green” standards and technologies, allocates considerable financial resources for the environment protection, implements energy-saving technologies, as well as energy- and material-minimization technologies, recycling and disposal of waste, etc.
NIBULON has implemented a number of “green” projects at its facilities. In particular, it has a successful experience in installing solar water heating systems as part of boiler rooms.  To date, the company has installed eight Vaillant auro Flow 135/2 solar water heating systems at its facilities. In the near future, it is planned to install 6 more solar water heating systems. Three facilities of NIBULON switched to electric heating with the accumulation of heat energy using the heaters of dynamic type Elnur (Spain), Teplotekhnika. In addition, all NIBULON’s branches switch to illumination with the use of light fixtures with LED lighting equipment, such as NBB64, DSP23, DO72U, DSP07U, DSU05U, HKU16U, ZHKU16U, DSP37V from Vatra (Ukraine). It helps the company to save more than UAH 1 million per year.
The company is implementing a program for switching from traditional fuel (gas, diesel fuel) to alternative ones (firewood, pellets, briquettes), which is relevant within the framework of the state program for the conservation of fossil resources. The components of the program are:
– production of briquettes from III category waste from the purification of oilseeds;
– modern solid fuel boilers to heat the administrative and production buildings. These boilers are capable of running on various types of alternative fuel (firewood, pellets, briquettes);
– the processing of waste oils with the installation of oil-fired boilers  at the transport department. Oil waste serves as fuel for such boilers.
As of the beginning of 2019, NIBULON has invested almost UAH 4.5 million in this program:
– a line to produce briquettes from III category waste from the purification of oilseeds is installed at “Kolosivs´kyy elevator” Ltd., a branch of NIBULON Group. Using the equipment, 277 tons of briquettes have been produced (313 tons of waste from oilseeds have been used as raw material);
 

– 10 modern solid fuel boilers from a domestic manufacturer are installed at 7 divisions of the company. They run on briquettes of own production. Thus, the company has saved about 122,000 m3 of natural gas.
– conditions for ecologically safe collection, storage, transportation and recycling of waste oils (hydraulic, transmission, gear, motor, crankcase, compressor oil) that appear at the company’s own facilities during the maintenance of its cars and trucks, agricultural machinery and fleet, compressors, hydraulic auto lifts, etc. are created;
– two state-of-the-art CLEAN BERN oil-fired boilers (the USA) are installed at the transport department. They meet the norms and requirements of the world and Ukrainian legislation and are capable of running on liquid oil waste.
This program contributes to energy saving and environment protection. The use of grain waste as raw material reduces loads in landfills. The use of hazardous waste (waste oils) is recycling using highly effective modern technologies. In the near future, it is planned to install 4 more solid fuel boilers.
We continue participating in the environmental initiative aimed to collect and recycle used batteries and storage sells. Within this program many companies, educational institutions and state organizations in Ukraine open receiving centers of used components in order to transport and recycle them safely. The program provides for increase of people’s environmental awareness and familiarization with the EU environmental standards. During 2015-2018, the company’s employees gathered more than 120 kg (or about 4,000 pieces) of used batteries and gave them to centers. The company’s environmental culture is created and supported by the employees themselves. Thus, participation in the program became a logical continuation of the environmental initiatives and an example of responsible business.
Being a socially responsible company, NIBULON implements its own high ecological standard. As part of this standard, the company regularly takes measures to prevent the deterioration of natural resources.
NIBULON cares about protection of the environment. Planting in the areas of NIBULON’s activities is a type of compensatory measures.  In 2018, the company planted 66 trees, 406 bushes, planted lawn grass on the area of 35,862 m2. We hope that the newly planted trees will not only serve as a decoration, but also provide natural filters to clear the air of pollution and dust. During 2009-2018, NIBULON initiated planting projects for a total amount of UAH 1.15 million.

Fish stocking is another type of compensatory measures. The company has invested about UAH 2 million in fish stocking during the period of the investment project. As a result, in 2009-2018, the company stocked the areas where the elevators were built (the Dnipro River, the Southern Buh River, the Kakhovka Reservoir, the Kaniv Reservoir, and the Kremenchuk Reservoir) with almost 50 tons of grass carp, silver carp and carp.

In August 2018, NIBULON quickly came to rescue Zaporizhzhia region from the environmental disaster and death of tens of thousands of so-iuy mullet in the Molochnyi Estuary in the Pryazovskyi National Park (Zaporizhzhia region). The water level in the Molochnyi Estuary falls catastrophically every year. The only sea gate was an artificial strait which was blocked with sand from storms and which required to be reopened. Due to its silted condition, so-iuy mullet that had entered the estuary in spring for spawning were stranded in shallow water and were dying through a lack of sea water. In order to free the fish, the dredger’s crew removed 10,000 m3 of sand. The strait that linked the Molochnyi Estuary to the Azov Sea was 680 m long and up to 2 m deep. The prime cost of operations in the Molochniy Estuary was UAH 437,708.68. 

Team
It is prestigious to work for our company. Every job is a formal employment (thus providing confidence in the future for employees’ families), social guarantees provided by the law, safe working conditions, a fair wage, and taxes; today they support the state budget and, in the future, they will guarantee pensions to employees.
All our efforts to train specialists at the company are not in vain. For many years young people have been the main driving force for the company, its most valuable assets and profitable investments. Therefore, we will continue to work on the conclusion of long-term agreements with educational institutions, within which students of higher educational institutions of different degrees undergo practical training at NIBULON. Then we invite the best ones to work for our company.

The program for the creation of its own personnel resources started in 2004 in order to train specialists, middle and top managers. This program received a new direction with the training of skilled workers of the shipbuilding professions. Unfortunately, recent years were very difficult for shipbuilding in Mykolaiv, and the labour market responded in kind: skilled specialists went abroad and most specialized educational institutions either completely stopped training shipbuilding specialists, or limited the number of students to a minimum. Some even closed shipbuilding faculties, leaving only training for general-purpose occupations. Therefore, NIBULON’s management, as always, does not rely on the state to help. NIBULON itself takes steps to change the situation:
-wages for blue-collar workers at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard are competitive with similar positions abroad, but the level of industrial culture, labour safety and social guarantees for NIBULON’s employees are higher. In addition, the employees have the opportunity to live their lives to the full – to work in Ukraine, to avoid deterioration in their health, to not waste their best years in a foreign country, to see their families every day and bring up their children;
– the training center is created and effectively operates to improve professional skills and develop vocational guidance; the employees have the opportunity to follow a course for free, to upgrade their skills, and to receive advanced training certificates of the state standard to obtain a higher grade, which can help them to switch to more highly-paid position;
– young specialists who have just graduated from the universities can become real professionals only under supervision of experienced employees. The company’s management encourages the best employees to share their experience with young employees. A mentorship program is created: every trainee or newcomer is allocated his/her mentor, who gets paid extra remuneration each month to encourage mentorship.

Besides various social projects, the ones aimed at the harmonious and inclusive development of every employee, the ones that develop not only the body but also the spirit, are also priories for the company. Sports competition is an example of how employee’s leisure becomes part of the company’s life, especially when it comes to sport. Sports competitions enable many persons to discover potential opportunities, discover new interests for them, and also team up, developing team skills.

NIBULON promotes the professional development of future specialists. The company’s facilities are very popular with teachers of educational institutions and students of agrarian, shipbuilding and other faculties.

Society
In 2018, NIBULON was recognized the best Philanthropist of 2017 under the category “Charity in the Social Sphere”. The company was presented with a diploma and a unique amber statuette “Angel of Good”.

Our company has been implementing NIBULON’s standard for more than 10 years. It is a project aimed at providing good conditions for education. In 2018, Mykolaiv comprehensive secondary school No. 57 received a 40” plasma TV to open a classroom for first formers and plates, cups, spoons for the school dining room for elementary school pupils. Mykolaiv comprehensive secondary school No. 51 is equipped with new components for computers, and Mykolaiv comprehensive secondary school No. 24 received a multifunctional device and a laptop. NIBULON purchased a laptop, two monitors, six Wi-Fi TP-Link N routers, hard disks for an information and communication technologies classroom at Kozatske comprehensive secondary school (Kherson region). 
 

The company sponsors informative excursions for pupils and teachers of the city schools. In 2018, NIBULON presented sports goods to 150 schools in Ukraine to ensure that pupils are not only educated, but also healthy. To this end, the company spent about UAH 240 thousand. These are sets of balls for playing football, handball, basketball, and volleyball.

The company is sure that only systematic support can really improve cultural and educational level of young generation, which in turn has a positive result for society and the state as a whole.
 
NIBULON provides a considerable part of its assistance to educational and medical institutions within social partnership agreements signed with town, settlement and village councils.
In 2018, more than 80 social partnership agreements worth more than UAH 4.3 million were signed by NIBULON with village, settlement and town councils. NIBULON sponsored repairs and equipment of schools, medical institutions and palaces of culture, winterization of kindergartens, repair of roads, renewal of street lightening, heat-, water-, gas-supply. The aim of these agreements is to implement state and regional social and economic development programs, to preserve and enrich historical and cultural heritage traditions, and to maintain the territorial community infrastructure.
The problem with Ukraine’s roads has been urgent as never before. As a socially responsible company, NIBULON invests in road repairs every year. In 2018, the company spent UAH 7 million on road repairs in Mykolaiv region (Mykolaiv city, Veselynove and Domanivka districts), Poltava region (Hrebinka, Hlobyne, Kremenchuk and Myrhorod districts), Cherkasy region (Zolotonosha and Chyhyryn districts), Luhansk region (Starobilsk district), Khmelnytskyi region (Kamianets-Podilsk district), Zaporizhzhia region (Zaporizhzhia and Kamianka-Dniprovska districts).
 
During a year, our company maintains part of the roads at its own expense. Every year NIBULON’s machinery helps the public utilities to clear snow from the roads and pavements for free for the benefit of public transport and local citizens.

In 2018, we continued reviving passenger transportation by water in Ukraine. It is a social project for our company. We produced and installed floating berths on the Kinburn Spit, as well as in Mykolaiv and Ochakiv at our own expense. Thus, this project allowed us not only to increase the attractiveness of our city, but also to make comfortable and safe water transport available to the overwhelming majority of the citizens and guests of the city.
 

During the 2018 season of passenger transportation, the company transported about 24,000 passengers. Due to the great attention paid to regular trips of high-speed and comfortable NIBULON Express hydrofoils, we have decided to devote a separate page on Facebook where you can find up-to-date information regarding routes, timetable, the fare, pleasure trips, as well as ask questions, comment and provide suggestions that will help us to improve the services. 

NIBULON together with the Ukrainian community is developing a new country. Every year the company allocates considerable material resources to support education, improve medical service level, preserve the environment, create appropriate working conditions and wage, and to achieve a high quality of life in the country.
NIBULON’s activity is model in the domestic conditions and an example of a socially responsible business. Our company proves that success is achieved only by combined effort. We are proud that today pupils of the company-sponsored schools win school contests and sporting events. More and more Ukrainians receive qualitative medical assistance; cultural and historical heritage of nation is preserved for future generations. NIBULON’s goal is to do more for Ukraine and for the world, for decent life standards and protection of the life interests of every person.

Андрій Вадатурський став генеральним директором «НІБУЛОНу» після понад 15 років роботи в компанії — в липні 2022 року.

Він прийняв цю посаду після трагічної загибелі свого батька та засновника «НІБУЛОНу» Олексія Вадатурського разом із матір’ю Раїсою Вадатурською під час російського ракетного удару по їхньому дому в Миколаєві.

З 2014 до 2019 рік був народним депутатом України від одномандатного округу в Миколаївській області та членом Комітету з питань аграрної політики. У 2017 році створив і очолив велику міжпартійну групу, яка виступала за розвиток українських річок як транспортного засобу.  

Має ступінь магістра електротехніки Українського державного морського технічного університету та ступінь магістра економіки промисловості Лондонської школи економіки. У 2009 році за вагомий внесок у розвиток агропромислового комплексу України був нагороджений Президентом України, йому присвоєно звання «Заслужений працівник сільського господарства».

Одружений, має трьох дітей.
