In connection with the rapid development of NIBULON’s investment project, including construction of a network of elevator complexes and transshipment terminals and taking into consideration the increase in silos quantity (cylindrical capacities to store bulk materials, including grain), in 2011 there was created a department to ensure silos operational reliability.
Petro Vasylev, a head of the department, tells, “Creation of our department became a technological necessity and was caused by an economic view of the company’s management, desire for safety operation of capacities. Our activity aims at following the requirements of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On Ensuring Reliability and Safety of Operation of Buildings, Structures and Engineering Networks”, the Law of Ukraine “On Regulation of Architectural Activity” according to which NIBULON is responsible for reliability and safety of operation of all facilities; the company is obliged to inspect them during the whole period of their operation”.
“The main tasks of our department are to organize delivery of silos, to control their storage and to develop proposals as to technical maintenance improvement, to carry out constant inspections and checks, to perform scheduled repairs, to control technical documentation. A list of tasks is big, and duties laid on us are very responsible. Not every specialist can endure the claimed professional level, as besides building education he must have professional skills in making inspections of technical condition of buildings and structures, and his professional features must include colossal endurance and technical thinking”.
An important element, according to the specialists of the department, is production standard (that provides for discipline, responsibility, self-improvement and regular studying of professional literature) and also following own motto “To prevent and not to repair”!
“To work for the company is comfortably and safely”, tells Svitlana Novak, an engineer. “Firstly, you feel NIBULON’s care for its employees: the existing workplaces are preserved and the new ones are created; wage is constantly paid; the employees and their families are provided with an opportunity for sanitation; secondly, when being surrounded by professionals you can solve any task set”.
She adds that to work for NIBULON means positive impressions, good mood and memorable events. She pleasantly recollects the solemn opening of new high-tech branches, St.Mykolai floating crane, visit to the Cathedral of Casperivska Icon of the Mother of God, and others.
According to Vitaliy Dovgan, a fitter, work requires constant and timely reaction to issues. “NIBULON is called the second home, as here we spend most of the time; our team consists of diligent and well-wishing people. The company’s activities have a wide geography; thus, we have seen almost the whole Ukraine during business trips”, he adds.
According to Pavlo Pyashkur, a fitter, rush period is spring and autumn. He mentions, “In spring we inspect capacities (316 silos at 22 branches!) in order to determine technical condition of structures and to prepare silos for a new yield receipt. In autumn, on gathering and drying a harvest, we inspect capacities again in order to determine preventive measures as to their safe operation and carrying out scheduled repair. In general, our business trips last for a whole year, as preventive measures are performed regularly regardless of season.
