…The first half of the 90s. Economic crisis dominates in the country. The villages suffered from it the most: absence of heating at school, destroyed farm, abandoned houses. The farm considered to be one of the most backward in the region. Finding no other way out but to cooperate with NIBULON, Mykola Grubyy, a head of the former collective farm, talked and assured every villager. People agreed to give their land shares to the state to be leased by the company. In 1996 there was established RE “Lidiyivs’ke” branch! At present the team consists of local residents from the villages of Domanivka district. The company’s coming became a real salvation for most of them and their families. Mykola Shmargovskyy, an agronomist, tells, “I was born in Domanivka town, lived here together with my parents. In due time, due to the funds given by the company as a rental payment, I got education in Mykolayiv Agrarian University. Being a fourth-year student, I came to Lidiyivka village in search of work. Choice of work was poor, either NIBULON or nothing. I was hired as a machine operator. After graduation from the university I worked as a field crop agronomist. My family lives and works in Domanivka town, my son will finish school this year. He dreams to be an economist and to return to his native village to work at the branch. He says it is necessary to develop our native village and not other places. I think we are going to have a real NIBULON’s family”. Due to well-coordinated work of Mykola Shmargovskyy and other agronomists headed by Vasyl Filimonov, a chief agronomist, RE “Lidiyivs’ke” branch takes the leading positions in the district among other branches of the company. In particular, according to the results of late grain crop harvesting, it took the first place (and the second one according to the results of early grain crop harvesting) among NIBULON’s branches of Mykolayiv region; according to the results of late grain crop harvesting, the branch took the first place among all the branches of the district (2012). “We cannot and have no right to demonstrate low results! Our machinery is foreign and modern. Fertilizers and fuel material are always available. We are a research branch, grow demonstration fields of sorghum, sunflower, and corn. While determining hybrids and producers to be appropriate for cultivation, we create a powerful basis to be given to other branches of the company. This knowledge is priceless both for us and for them. Together with the branch director we created a greenhouse, started to grow early vegetables for our cafeteria. We have our own onions, parsley, cucumbers, and tomatoes. When vegetable prices are high, our employees eat vegetables cultivated at our branch”, tells Vasyl Filimonov. Besides vegetable diversity, Lidiyivka bread is well-known among employees of the company. “Really, our bread is delicious. We bake it from our own flour, from grain cultivated with loving care. Certainly, we have secrets as to its formulation, but who opens them? Everyone who visits the branch praises our bread”, mentions Galyna Pastuh, a cook. Igor Zelmanovych, a machine operator, shares his positive working moments, “The most important criterion of estimation is a technological level. I had to operate Т-150К tractor earlier. Coming to NIBULON I started to operate Fendt tractor. The difference is huge. Machinery is safe, comfortable; air-conditioner operates; there are no noise and dust in a cab”. Some specialists of the branch mention that they travel a lot. NIBULON regularly organizes professional trainings for them. Together with other NIBULON’s experts they participate in trainings, forums. They have already visited Egypt, France, Holland, German, Belgium, Thailand, Spain! They study technologies and methods of cultivation, harvesting, irrigation, storage, etc. When they tell the inhabitants about their trips, people are amazed. Unfortunately, such work with trips is a dream for them. Besides, while visiting European farmers, Lidiyivka people receive evidence that crop cultivation level in NIBULON is not worse than the European one. Oleksandr Lynda, a chief engineer, stresses that such trips are a good tradition for the team. But the main tradition is honest work. “We all live and work here. Our relatives are also here. Therefore, our main tradition is to develop our branch. Reliable stability is our tradition! We thank Oleksiy Vadaturskyy for his parent custody. He trained us to be the real specialists, he was not afraid of appointing us, young and unskilled, to the leading positions”. Reliability and stability are the words known to every inhabitant of the neighbouring villages. The pupils walked to unrepaired schools till NIBULON’s arrival. At present children go to schools by bus, the schools are repaired, and Lidiyivka school became the first one that received an interactive classroom with multimedia board. School uniform, education equipment, books, school excursions, heating are ensured due to NIBULON’s financial support. NIBULON ensured reconstruction of water pipeline, lighting in Lidiyivka village.
