Different production areas with their production rules seem to have nothing in common, but the furniture makers have clearly defined their goal, namely to study how NIBULON organizes work at NIBULON’s transshipment terminal in order to adapt the company’s experience to their activities.
The guests were impressed by both the size of the terminal and its organizational and technical principles of operation. The world’s largest capacities to store grain (two domes of 50 thousand tons each) constructed according to the up-to-date technology amazed the guests. As such hemispherical structures are unique in Europe.
Sergiy Filenko, deputy director at the transshipment terminal, told them about the production and technological scheme at the terminal – from the sampling and the measurement of grain quality to the methods of storage and shipment of export products onboard a vessel. The guests were particularly interested in high-productive flow and transport system at the terminal with conveyer and elevator equipment that ensures high productivity of up to 700 tons per hour. Implementing innovation methods, NIBULON, instead of traditional schemes, uses five points of shipment, thereby enabling the company to ship different types of agricultural commodities simultaneously.
The guests usually show interest in the production and technological laboratory, being equipped with modern import equipment. The laboratory, accredited by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine, carries out chemical and physical, molecular and genetic tests of grains, leguminous and oilseeds, measures quality and safety indices, GMO.
The specialists from the furniture factory asked a lot of questions during the meeting with Nadiya Katsevych, a head of quality control department. In particular, they asked about the operation of NIBULON’s laboratories both at the transshipment terminal and at the branches, personnel selection, refresher training, and control over laboratory operation.
Certainly, the guests shared their impressions.
Lyubov Sperelup, a head of quality department at the factory, said, “First of all, I was impressed by the size of the terminal. One must see it! And all the activities that are performed here can be characterized as professional ones. It is a truly European company”.
Olena Turbina, an engineer of quality department, said, “We have seen a well-coordinated work at each sector, where the employees perform their duties properly. The terminal meets the standards, and people are devoted to their work”.
Vadym Sperelup, a development director, noted, “The employees are aware of their functions and work responsibly. I was impressed by the system to receive, store and to ship grain a large number of which is processed in a short period of time, as well as by the practice to harmonize Ukrainian and foreign quality standards. In general, NIBULON’s activities must be a model and guideline for the Ukrainian economy”.
