The unique self-propelled high-capacity dredger with a symbolic name MYKOLAIVETS, that was launched a month ago, has successfully completed sea trials.
Recently, NIBULON has completed sea trials of the dredger on the water area of the Southern Buh River. In particular, the specialists tested the propulsion units of the port and starboard in all modes. In addition, there were tested maneuverability of the vessel, anchor complex, radio communication and navigation. The vessel’s speed at complete revolutions of engines corresponds to the design speed – 7 knots.
This vessel is equipped with a high-capacity engineering complex. It is equipped with an excavator and a hydraulic hammer which is capable of crashing rocks, as well as with a hydraulic pump station, which can transfer 2,000 m3 of pulp per hour to a distance of 1.5 km. MYKOLAIVETS can operate at depths of up to 15 meters – with a bucket, a milling cutter and a hydraulic hammer. This vessel will allow us to deepen the Dnipro River, the Southern Buh River, as well as the water area of ports and terminals to the depths that are necessary for the effective operation of the fleet operating on our rivers and water areas.
At present the specialists of the shipbuilding and repair yard are adjusting the installed equipment on the vessel. Upon its trials, the dredger will be transferred to NIBULON’s shipping company.
We would remind you that on September 29, during the 10th International Investment Forum “Tavrian Horizons: cooperation, investment and economic development” NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy introduced the company’s new investment plans on developing logistics in Ukraine and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership between Kherson Regional State Administration, Gomel Regional Executive Committee and NIBULON. The successful implementation of this project requires the restoration of E-40 navigable way and restoration of river transportation by the route the Baltic Sea – Gdansk – the Dnipro River – the Black Sea, namely: dredging the limiting areas of the Dnipro and Dniprodzerzhynsk Reservoirs. Therefore, it is planned that MYKOLAIVETS will start experimental dredging on the Dniprodzerzhynsk Reservoir at the end of the month.
It should be noted that this year NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard has completed construction of a series of the non-self-propelled B2000 project vessels intended for operation on the Southern Buh River and the 121M tugs named after famous Mykolaiv shipbuilders (Yurii Makarov, Anatolii Hankevych, Nodari Chanturiia). In total, NIBULON has launched 7 vessels in 2017, and the shipyard has a hundred percent workload for the next two years.
