In July 2014 in Reshetylivka district of Poltava region there was held a seminar dedicated to the compliance with fire safety rules during harvesting organized by the administration of the State Service of Emergency Situations of Ukraine in Poltava region.
Representatives of the regional and district services of emergency situations, senior workers of the regional department of agricultural development and regional agricultural inspection, representatives of agricultural companies, including directors of NIBULON’s branches in Poltava region, participated in full session that was organized at Reshetylivka village council. During the meeting there was analyzed the current state of affairs in the district agrarian sector; measures taken to prevent from fire on grain fields were reported on.
The seminar’s practical part was held at the elevator complex of “Reshetylivs’ka” branch. Familiarizing the guests with the fire protection system, Valeriy Reutsoy, the branch director, stressed that all production links of modern automated and computerized elevator (facilities to store grain, grain dryers, transporters, etc.) were equipped with highly sensitive sensors fixing even abnormal increase of air and grain mass temperature. Such a fire alarm system was installed at other facilities in the territory of the branch. Effective fire-fighting equipment is installed at places according to the fire safety rules. In the elevator’s territory there are placed two large underground tanks with water and a motor pump for water delivery to the potential fire area.
At the terminal there was created a voluntary fire brigade among employees. Its members (who are on duty on-the-job) regularly undergo special training and retraining.
Exhibition performance of the fire-fighters finished the seminar. As per the legend, on a gas grain dryer there was a fire quickly spreading both vertically and horizontally. Reshetylivka Independent State Fire Department-30 and the emergency and rescue detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Poltava town were informed about it immediately. On cutting off power supply and gas supply, NIBULON’s voluntary fire-fighting brigade was the first to extinguish a fire, unwinding hoses of the motor pump connected with underground water storage basin and starting extinguishing.
The fire-fighters and rescuers coming to help NIBULON’s voluntary fire-fighting brigade had to save not only elevator and grain but also two members of the voluntary brigade who lost conscious because of smoke formation in spaces. Moreover, one of the fire victims was taken by the arms, and the other one was rescued due to the ropes. Thus, the medical team was also “involved in”.
We would remind you that non-military fire-fighting divisions of NIBULON’s branches constantly take prize-winning places in the district and regional contests of fire-applied sport.
Both the regional seminar and sports achievements testify that the training level of our specialists is high.
