Kostiantyn Patalakh, an electronic engineer of Khortytsia branch, has been defending Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation. Currently, he serves in the 110th Territorial Defense Brigade of the 116th Battalion, 2nd Company.
“There was nothing to think about. I decided everything as soon as I heard the news. I am from Zaporizhzhia. My whole life has passed here. My family is here. I have what to protect and someone to return to. On February 24, I came to work, handed over all passwords, accesses, necessary information to my colleagues, and went to the military commissariat. Since February 25, I am not an electronic engineer, but a technician in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Kostiantyn in a telephone conversation.
Kostiantyn has military experience. In the ’80s, he was serving for three years in the Navy as an electrician on a submarine. Because of this, he received the call sign Sailor. Now, as a technician, he is responsible for repairing all equipment, cars, weapons, etc.
“We are a rifle company. Currently, we serve in the northern direction, closer to the borders. Before that, we were serving in the Donetsk direction for 18 months. By the way, colleagues from the branch also serve with me – locksmith repairman Volodymyr Leheza and grain processing operator Mykhailo Fedorov. Our combat tasks are different, in particular we patrol by cars and neutralize Shaheds,” says Kostiantyn.
“After our victory and my return to civilian life, first of all, I want to have a vacation with my family. I want to go to the sea, to our Black Sea, to the Crimea. And to Kyrylivka! After that, I can think about work,” shares his plans Kostiantyn.
Together with Kostiantin, we dream of Kyrylivka, the Crimean Mountains, and the sea, we believe in our victory, and we are looking forward to welcoming all NIBULON’s employees back home.
