Ambition, proactivity, openness to new knowledge and experience – qualities that are always valued and which are always required if you seek to grow as a professional and build a career. And also – courage and faith in your own strength. This rule is confirmed by Serhii Haidashuk, the chief power engineering specialist of the Denykhivska branch.
Serhii joined NIBULON in 2016, starting as a transporter and on the way to his current position, he went through all stages of both vertical and horizontal development. In less than a year, he grew to a shiftforeman, and in 2018 he tried his hand at power energy.
“In 2016, I worked in one of the national grocery chains, but I was looking for a new job because I planned to return to my native land. When I saw an open vacancy at NIBULON, I immediately applied and went through an interview. I started as a transporter, in a few months I was promoted to the operator of dispatching traffic and loading and unloading work on road transport. For those who are not familiar with the specifics of working at a branch, I will explain. The transporter is engaged in setting grain routes. This is both physical and organizational work. The operator works at the top of the elevator, controls all the mechanisms, he is the “eyes” of his manager – the shift foreman.
I liked working at the branch, I quickly learned the specifics of the elevator. In addition, I had wonderful colleagues and supervisors who helped me adapt and shared their experience from the first day. This is Mykola Miahchenko – at that time he was a senior foreman at the branch, and Vasyl Shamrai – a substitute foreman. Later, they moved to our new branch – Holoprystanska, but we still keep in touch and I am very grateful to them for their support in my first year at NIBULON.
In May 2017, when a vacancy opened up, I was promoted to shift foreman. In this position, I was responsible for the planning of all production processes, receiving and shipping, drying of grains,” – says Serhii about the beginning of his journey at NIBULON.
In 2018, a vacancy for a power engineer was opened at the branch. Then the management decided not to look for a person from the outside, but to offer the position to an internal candidate who is already familiar with all processes, with the prospect of promotion to the chief power engineer.
“We saw potential for development in Serhii. He is attentive to details, responsible, principled, and passionate about his work. Yes, he lacked a little management experience, but he is extremely goal-oriented, ready to learn and develop. And this is the most important thing. We were sure then, and now, that Serhii will cope with any assigned task,” says Mykola Prokofiev, the chief engineer and Serhii’s directsupervisor.
“Although I have a technical education, energy is a different field. We discussed it with management. Vitaliy Oleksandrovych Hulko, who at that time was the director of the branch, believed in me, took responsibility and gave me the opportunity to contribute, always helped with advice or motivational instructions at the right moment. We have very strong specialists in our team. Like it or not, you will take over their knowledge. Under the guidance of Mykola Dmytrovych Prokofiev and chief engineer Oleksandr Hryhorovych Kolisnyk, who devoted his entire working career to power energy, I began to fall into all “power energy” processes. And within a year I was promoted to the chief power engineer of the branch,” says Serhii.
Currently, Serhiy is responsible for the organization of technically correct operation and timely repair of power and environmental equipment and power systems, continuous provision of production with electricity, steam, gas, water and other types of energy, control over the rational consumption of energy resources at the enterprise, planning the work of the power energy service, drawing up repair schedules of the equipment, etc.
Already working at NIBULON, Serhii decided to get a second education – he graduated from the Khmelnytskyi National University with a degree in “Marketing”.
“You can stay in one position all your life and be satisfied with it. And you can take the initiative, take responsibility and simply dare to make changes. Nobody is interested in working with a passive person who does not seek development – neither colleagues, nor management. At NIBULON, we have room to grow and learn. And you have to learn constantly, even in a business you are familiar with. Modern life dictates its own rules to us. New technologies and methods of production constantly appear, many processes are being automated. Therefore, you must always keep your finger on the pulse, be open to new things, devote time to development and self-education, improve your knowledge in your profession and be interested in related specialties,” Serhii is sure.
