It is extremely important to future shipbuilders to see the process of shipbuilding, its technological features, and not to be familiar with that only through the textbooks. During the excursion, future marine electricians familiarized themselves in detail not only with the main production areas of the shipyard, where the large-scale reconstruction has been held for several consecutive years, but also with its orders.
Serhii Zhyhanov, a teacher of the college, immediately noted an exemplary character of the shipyard, its equipment and the fact how NIBULON has managed to revive the shipbuilding plant and thus the shipbuilding industry,
“As a former senior mechanic, and now as a teacher, I liked your shipbuilding yard very much. I remember the neglected state of Black Sea ship repair yard (one of the former names of Lyman shipyard). Of course, since then, everything has improved significantly. And that’s fine. I see here a real life. Therefore, I would like to wish the management of the company all the best and success in all your activities”.
Since the moment of acquisition of the property complex of Mykolaiv shipbuilding yard “Lyman” (2012) and the creation of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, our company has immediately started its large-scale reconstruction, which made it one of the most modern shipbuilding yards in Ukraine. It even entered the Top 7 revived industrial enterprises of Ukraine, which have been revived after years of decline and make a significant contribution to the economy of Ukraine.
It should be noted that both teachers and students of vocational colleges and higher educational institutions often visit the shipbuilding and repair yard and have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the shipyard’s production facilities, to see shipbuilding process, to communicate with the specialists in shipbuilding, navigation, and to receive professional comments. We hope that such measures will not only promote the professional development of future shipbuilders which we lack (especially welders, electricians, etc.), but also interest young people in jobs in Ukraine.
