At the beginning of the visit, third-year students met with the specialists of NIBULON’s recruitment department. They explained principles of NIBULON’s work, possible cooperation with students, and set them up for an interesting excursion.
“Next year you will receive your diplomas and you will face a choice – how to build your future and where to work. It is a rather complicated question and you should think over it. Our company has been developing shipbuilding for more than one year, and this development is provided, in particular, through the work of young people who come to us to work or undergo practical training. Therefore, we invite interested and talented people to fill in an application form on the company’s corporate website. We employ young people who have graduated from the same specialty. These are specialists of different levels. Once they filled in a form and became our employees. We invite you to revive shipbuilding in our city and our country together. Don’t waste time, use all possibilities, pay attention to all the details during the excursion, ask questions, and then your development and future will depend on you”, said Iryna Savenko, deputy head of recruitment department.
Director of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard Dmytro Gorbenko held the excursion. The students visited all key production areas of the shipyard; they evaluated the newly built workshops with modern equipment, walked along the building berth, where the construction is underway, saw the slipway that has been recently extended to maintain 140-m long vessels.
“I think that your shipyard is of high level. And the statement that there is no shipbuilding in Mykolaiv is false. There is shipbuilding, because your shipyard actively constructs vessels. You have an absolutely self-sufficient enterprise: there are workshops and special equipment for all processes. Such sizes make us proud of our city”, said Anastasiia, a third-year student.
The students paid attention to the shipyard’s shipbuilding program, which is planned a few years ahead and plans for its reconstruction and modernization. The guests had many questions about NIBULON’s cargo and passenger fleet, which they managed to see during the excursion.
“You fleet is really amazing! Today we’ve seen both high-speed hydrofoils, non-self-propelled vessels and modern tugs… Even the historical NIBULON MAX, which is still being built, already impresses by its size. Such a diversity and quantity (75 vessels) definitely makes your fleet the best one in Ukraine. I am sure that you will easily and quickly reach the planned 100 units”, said Albert, a student.
At the end of the meeting, the guests thanked the company’s management for the interesting excursion. They assured us that the excursion convinced them that Ukrainian shipbuilding has a great future thanks to NIBULON.
